I have listed here the workshops I will be delivering, the dates and locations. I can deliver workshops in Oswestry for four people on Sundays so if you would like to gather some friends and choose a workshop , that can be arranged. I will be adding more workshops once the dates are confirmed.
Mini Concertina Collage Books

Spend a creative day making mini collaged concertina books. Investigate collage techniques using a variety of media, pre printed papers, fabric, magazine images and text then you could embellish with stitch or drawing techniques. You will be guided through choosing a theme and how to investigate new creative ideas developing your artistic practice. You will soon start your own library of inspirational books that can be hung as wall art or stretched out on a shelf. They make wonderful gifts and the contents could reflect a shared memory or convey a special personal message. It is a great way to use prints created on the gelplate printing workshop.
Tutor will provide all materials for this workshop. This cost is included in your fee.
This workshop is suitable for both beginners and improvers.

Start off your creative year by drenching yourself in colour and pattern.
Using a 10cm x 10cm gelplate, you will create a range of images on paper and fabric by investigate colour texture and layering.
The resulting images can be used for a variety of creative projects including collage, concertina books and slow stitch projects.
It’s great fun and the compact format allows for great experimentation.
Tutor will supply most materials for this workshop. This cost is included in your fee.
Students will need to bring their own acrylic paints for this workshop.
Students are encouraged to bring along any found objects that can be pressed into paint to make a pattern. ( tutor will also bring some items along with her that you can use). Also any additional papers that you would like to print on, for example – sheets of text from old books, printed music, special hand made paper, bits of fabric and foliage.

Stitched Book Cover using Ecoprinted Textiles.
March 18th Cambrian Studios Oswestry
10 am – 4 pm
During this relaxing day you will make a hand stitched book cover to fit an A5 notebook. Making a template is the first activity then selecting your fabric from a range of eco printed cotton and silk . You will then explore texture and colour using stitch and adding embellishments, your finished cover will be truly unique, a mini work of art.
I will provide all materials for the day although you are welcome to bring along anything you would like to incorporate.
Bring a packed lunch and I will provide tea , coffee and cake.

Eco printing geometric patterns.

Eco-printing is the exciting technique of printing paper and fabric with the natural dyes from leaves a flowers. The process releases the dye from the vegetation and fixes it on to the substrate . You will learn the basic technique on paper and silk and you will investigate making geometric patterns by manipulating the leaves. You will cut , rip , stamp and layer the leaves to experiment with pattern making. This technique can give a completely fresh look to eco printed textiles.
In the morning you will learn about the different leaves that give good prints and the different mordents used to create different colours .
In the afternoon you will eco-print some silk fabric and make a scarf to take home.
I will provide all materials but please feel free to bring along foliage that you have gathered yourself.
Please bring along a packed lunch, I will supply tea, coffee and cake.
This workshop is suitable for both beginners and improvers. It is a good chance to recap on the basic technique and develop further.

Using a combination of wet felt making and eco printing techniques, design and make a beautiful vessel.
Start by making your design choice and then create your template. Learn how to use resist to create your 3D shape. Once your vessel is complete you will learn how to apply a simple design using an eco-print technique with eucalyptus leaves.

An introduction to Eco-printing .

Come and have a fun taster of the exciting and versatile technique of eco-printing. The technique uses leaves and flowers to print images on to paper and fabric using steam to transfer the colours. You will learn about using different mordants to create different colours from the same leaves. You will experiment creating textural effects by using certain leaves and seeds . In the morning you will experiment with different techniques onto paper and in the afternoon you will print a simple silk scarf.
By the end of the session you will have learnt some basic eco-printing techniques and produced some samples on paper, some decorative tags and a simple silk scarf.
Tutor will supply the basic materials required for this workshop. This cost is included in your fee.
